Alayna Gammons, PT, DPT

Staff Physical Therapist

Alayna Gammons is an outpatient physical therapist serving the Southern Maryland region. She enjoys sharing her passion for movement, exercise, and strength training with patients of all ages and with a variety of diagnoses. Her professional interests include orthopedic and sports-related injuries. She looks forward to continuing her education, with plans to further her knowledge in running and pursue her CSCS certification in the future.

Education

Alayna earned her Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University in 2019 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2023. In February 2026, Alayna completed the required training hours through the state of Maryland to become certified in dry needling.

Experience

Alayna has been practicing as a physical therapist for three years, gaining experience in the outpatient setting with a diverse patient population. She began her career with MedStar, where she developed her skills treating a variety of orthopedic, sports-related, and neurological conditions. In February 2026, Alayna joined Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, continuing her passion for outpatient physical therapy and helping patients return to the activities that are important to them.

Philosophy

Alayna believes movement and exercise are for everyone. She loves bringing the principles of strength training to people of all ages, helping them build confidence, improve their physical capabilities, and return to the activities they love. Her goal is to make movement approachable, purposeful, and empowering, helping every patient achieve more than they believe they are capable of.

Personal Life

During her undergraduate career, Alayna played on FSU’s women’s rugby team and continues to love supporting team sports. She is always ready for football season in the fall. In her past time now, she has passion for powerlifting and weightlifting at the gym. She has also recently started competing in HYROX events in the D.C. area. Her next goal is to take on a half marathon next year!
